HYDROGEN CONCENTRATION MEASURING SYSTEM (HCMS)
VUJE’s know-how built over 40-year period being involved in NPP design, construction and operation in CEE region, based on 20-year experience in proven hydrogen concentration measurement in the hermetic containment integrity, resulted into 3rd generation of the HCMS to prevent eventual consequences and/or reactor hermetic containment integrity loss due to dangerous hydrogen concentration. This HCMS qualified for LOCA and severe accidents was designed by VUJE for operation in NPPs with VVER-440 and VVER-1000 reactor types.
Qualified by IEC 60980 for seismic conditions in class 1a (classification according to IAEA Safety Guide No. NS-G-1.6) and by IEC 60780 for accident conditions, KAMOS integrated measuring probe is placed in reactor hermetic containment to detect hydrogen concentration with accuracy of ±0,25 vol. % within its crucial ranges.
Qualified by IEC 60980 for seismic conditions in class 1a (IAEA Specific Safety Requirements No. SSR-2/1, IAEA Safety Guide No. NS-G-1.3, EN 61226, Regulation Guide 1.97 and Regulation Guide 1.98), the HCMS data acquisition and control unit is placed out of reactor hermetic containment to process a gas mixture calculations of selected parameters and to provide on-line data to the NPP operating personnel.
This HCMS was supplied in various versions (taking in account specific customer requirements) to NPPs within Slovakia, Hungary and two units to Ukraine. The system meets legal and other relevant guides and regulations for NPP reliability.
